Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Nilyu, Gissar ridge. M.R. Jalilov, 1968 (190, p. 43). Stratotype in the area of the village of Nilyu, on the left bank of the Sangardak River.

Synonym: Nilyuskaya Suite, Нилюская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Alternation of gray, dark-green clays, glauconitic green sandstones, organogenic gray limestones. Thickness 105-167 m.


Lithology Pattern: 
Shallow-marine marl

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Sangard Fm

Upper contact

Conformably overlain by the Kuruk Fm.
